Changing appointment type/ practitioner

Hello,

I have to cancel a clients appointment to be able change the type, ie from a 60minute appointment to a 45 minute appointment, or if they have booked the wrong insurance one. Being able to change the appointment type would take a fair bit less time.

It is the same for changing practitioners- it would be useful if we could change this without cancelling the appointment.

    Hi Adara,

Good news: you can now change an appointment’s type or practitioner without cancelling it, so a 60-minute booking can become a 45-minute one, or a booking made under the wrong insurance type can be switched over.

Open the appointment in your Diary, click Actions and choose Edit appointment.

Pick the new appointment type and/or practitioner, then click Save changes. The date and start time stay the same.

Your client isn’t notified automatically, so if you’d like them to have the updated details, choose Send appointment details from the same Actions menu. If there’s already an invoice on the appointment and you change the type, you’ll be asked whether to keep that invoice as it is or void it and start a new one at the new price. Nothing is refunded if you void it: anything already paid stays on the client’s account as credit.

Our help article Rescheduling, changing or cancelling appointments walks through it step by step. Thanks for suggesting this one, and we’d love to hear how it works for you.
